My name is Margarida and I’m the face behind The Vernacular’s camera. Borned and based in Porto, I started playing around with photography as a teen. I remember my analog camera so well and how the darkroom and the expectation of the development of the rolls were so fascinating at the time.
My mind was made up, nothing felt so good as eternalizing people, places, happy memories. I ended up studying Photography and went my way around Video, which was just one more way for me to keep moments alive.
My art background and a crazy eye for detail led me to the great world of Wedding Photography. I started by helping out amazing photographers among so many great artists. As soon as I felt ready, The Vernacular was born and I’m so grateful to be having the opportunity to be a part of the special day of so many amazing couples around Europe.
While I’m not geeking out about editing and vintage cameras, I’m exploring my baking skills or dipping my toes in the freezing waters of Porto. It’s within these simple experiences that I draw inspiration, cultivating a deep appreciation for the beauty that embellishes every aspect of everyday life.
I’m not only a wedding photographer, I’m also a destination wedding photographer. For my couples, I am willing to go anywhere in the world to be able to tell their stories. A new scenario, in a new country is the ideal fuse to develop my creativity. Traveling motivates me to create more and more. So this year, look for me in one of these places or challenge me to travel to your city to create together.
