Celebrating love in a beautiful palace in Sintra: get to know my latest elopement photography project.
In the past few years, elopements have become more and more popular. This kind of celebration is a great choice for those couples who don’t identify with the “traditional wedding” and are looking for a more personalised and intimate solution.
So, let me introduce you to Sara and Miguel, a couple who chose the Palácio de Seteais, in Sintra, as their place to elope.
Elopement Photography: An Elopement in Palácio de Seteais
As I was saying in the beginning of this blog post, more and more couples are deciding to elope. And there can be many reasons behind this decision. It can be because a wedding can be a really expensive ceremony, because the couple simply prefer a more intimate moment, or because they’re looking for something more personalised and spontaneous.
One of the best things about an elopement is exactly that: it allows you to create an experience totally created to match your taste or expectation. You can choose to do it just the two of you or to invite only the closest friends and family. You can do it in your hometown or in a different country. You can exchange vows in the middle of nature, in a city, or even in a specific place, just like the couple in this elopement photography project. In the end, it’s all up to what you decide.
In the case of Sara and Miguel, they decided to celebrate their love in the Palácio de Seteais. This palace is located in Sintra, a beautiful village about 30 minutes from Lisbon, that is known for its history and beautiful landscapes. This is the perfect backdrop for a fairy-tale elopement or wedding.
Palácio de Seteais is an historic hotel that combines romance, beauty and history. Besides being a hotel, this place also offers the possibility of organising events, like weddings and elopements, in its magnificent halls and gardens.
As you can see by the gallery above, Sara and Miguel really enjoyed their day in this palace. I really loved the way they choose such an historic and traditional place to get an elopement with a modern yet classic vibe.
